Choose real grain or an easier-care finish

Wooden blinds bring natural grain and a warm slatted appearance to a window. Faux wood gives a similar broad-slat look with different maintenance qualities and can be more practical where moisture needs consideration. Weight, room conditions and cleaning all matter, especially on a large opening. We bring real and faux samples to your Newport property so you can compare colour, grain and surface finish against the window frame and joinery. Matching valances can conceal the headrail, while fashionable metal pulls add a small contrasting detail to the operating controls.

Set the scale with the slat width

The available slat widths are 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 63mm. Narrower slats create more horizontal lines, while wider ones give a bolder scale and alter the view between slats. We relate these proportions to the window rather than choosing from the sample alone. Controls can be arranged on the left, right or split between sides, depending on access and preference. For larger wood Venetian blinds, the patented Easilift system is an available option to support smoother operation. Once installed, we check the lift, tilt and valance position with you.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose real wood or faux wood blinds?

Real wood provides natural grain and a lighter material feel, while faux wood has different care and moisture qualities. We compare samples and consider the room, window size and cleaning needs with you.

How does slat width change the appearance?

A narrow slat creates more lines across the glass, while a broad slat gives a stronger, more open scale. Window size and surrounding joinery help determine which proportion looks and works best.

What is the Easilift system used for?

Easilift is an available option designed to help larger wood Venetian blinds operate smoothly. We can discuss it when the blind's size and weight mean easier lifting would be particularly useful.
